Istanbul Photo Awards 2016 การประกวดภาพข่าวและกีฬาระดับนานาชาติซึ่งจัดโดยสำนักข่าว Anadolu Agency (@anadoluagency) จะเปิดรับผลงานเข้าประกวดไปจนถึงวันที่ 31 มกราคม 2559

เงินรางวัลรวม 58,000 ดอลลาร์จะตกเป็นของผู้คว้าอันดับ 1, 2 และ 3 ในสี่หมวดการแข่งขัน ได้แก่ news single, news story, sports single และ sports story นอกจากนั้นยังมีรางวัล “Photo of the Year” ด้วย

Istanbul Photo Awards (@IstPhotoAwards) เป็นการประกวดภาพข่าวและกีฬาระดับนานาชาติรายการเดียวของตุรกี โดยในปีที่แล้วมีผลงานส่งเข้าประกวดถึง 12,000 ภาพ จากช่างภาพมืออาชีพในกว่า 100 ประเทศ

กรรมการตัดสินที่กลับมารับหน้าที่อีกครั้ง ได้แก่ Liu Heung Shing ผู้อำนวยการ Shanghai Center of Photography, Georges De Keerle ผู้บริหารของ Getty Images, Michel Scotto ผู้อำนวยการฝ่ายพัฒนาธุรกิจภาพของ AFP, Guillaume Herbaut ผู้ชนะรางวัล World Press Photo รวมถึง Ahmet Sel บรรณาธิการใหญ่ฝ่ายภาพข่าว และ  Fırat Yurdakul บรรณาธิการภาพของ Anadolu Agency

กรรมการหน้าใหม่ที่ร่วมตัดสินในปีนี้ประกอบด้วย Daniel Berehulak เจ้าของรางวัลพูลิตเซอร์และผู้ชนะรางวัล “Photo of the Year” ปี 2015, James Wellford บรรณาธิการภาพของนิตยสาร Newsweek, Nicolas Jimenez ผู้อำนวยการภาพของหนังสือพิมพ์ฝรั่งเศส Le Monde และ Laurent Van der Stockt เจ้าของรางวัล Excellence-Journalism Prize จาก Columbia University

– หนังสือภาพ “Istanbul Photo Awards 2015″

ผลงานภาพอันยอดเยี่ยมที่ชนะการประกวดในปีที่แล้วได้รับการตีพิมพ์ในหนังสือภาพ Istanbul Photo Awards 2015 โดยเผยให้เห็นภาพข่าวสำคัญๆทั่วโลกในปี 2014 และสะกดความสนใจด้วยภาพถ่ายกีฬาสีสันสดใส ปกของหนังสือเล่มนี้เป็นภาพการแพร่ระบาดของอีโบลาในไลบีเรีย ซึ่ง Daniel Berehulak ถ่ายให้กับหนังสือพิมพ์ New York Times เพื่อเผยให้เห็นถึงความหดหู่ใจระหว่างการแพร่ระบาดของโรค และได้รับเลือกให้เป็น “Photo of the Year 2015” ในการประกวดภาพถ่าย Istanbul Photo Awards
