PEA ENCOM International Co yesterday announced its collaboration with Fah Chai Engineering, a provider of solar power systems, to offer such systems via its PEA Shops nationwide, focusing on customers of its parent, the Provincial Electricity Authority.
PEA Encom, a state enterprise, has been authorised by the Cabinet to proceed with its investment plan both domestically and internationally with a budget of Bt6 billion for production of a total of 500 megawatts of electricity.
Acting managing director Punlop Pinyowiwat said that initially PEA ENCOM would focus on solar farms, for which it has set a target for total installed production of 50-100MW next year, up from 35MW currently.
He believes that the proportion of renewable energy fuelling the country’s electricity supply will rise from less than 10 per cent currently.
“To go ahead with its alternative-energy business, PEA ENCOM has joined hands with Fah Chai Engineering Co, which has been a provider of solar equipment and solar power systems for more 14 years,” Punlop said.
He added that this would encourage both the government and public sectors to invest in solar power as well as increase the country’s energy security.
Moreover, he said this collaboration would create a wider distribution channel to bring quality power systems to the public through PEA Shops.
Fah Chai Engineering Co is a distributor and one-stop shopping provider of equipment and services related to solar power systems around the world. Products distributed by the company include KACO solar inverters, Hanwha solar panels, and Clenergy solar mounting systems.
