WITH THAIS beginning of the best spot to get involved in a water fight – or planing a holiday to get away from water fights – Starbucks is counting down to the Songkran Festival with an edition of colourful drinkware.

It’s important, of course, to stay fresh and fully hydrated in the summer heat, and here you have double-layered, |vacuum-insulated, stainless steel tumblers for your drinks.

The translucent plastic tumblers are adorned with festive brushstroke patterns, golden stars of aluminium foil and, inside, blue polka dots.

On an all-white tumbler is a colourful lotus motif, while translucent tumblers in pastel blue and pink have a pink and violet garland of flowers that symbolises Thai culture.

Other double-layered glasses sport elephants in various hues.

Ideal for cold and carbonated drinks, the blue plastic tumbler takes its inspiration from the Songkran tradition of building sand pagodas, while the Let’s Get Festive tumbler with the “Thailand Songkran” logo combines pink, green and violet.
