American rock band Extreme will be in Bangkok this month, playing a long-awaited concert at GMM Live House on the eighth floor of CentralWorld on June 13 at 8pm.

Fans around the world are expecting the band’s current lineup featuring Nuno Bettencourt, Pat Badger, Kelvin Figueiredo, and Gary Cherone to perform hits from every era of the band’s history such as “More Than Words”, “Hole Hearted”, “Rest In Peace” and more.

The legendary American rock band reached the height of their popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Among some of Extreme’s musical influences are Van Halen, Queen, Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin. The band played at The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992 and Cherone joined Van Halen in 1996. The band has described their music as “funky metal” in the early days, but it would evolve much more in the mid-1990s by blending classic rock influences with post-grunge and alternative rock.

Extreme was formed in Massachusetts in 1985 by vocalist Gary Cherone and drummer Paul Geary formerly of “The Dream”, guitarist Nuno Bettencourt of “Sinful” and bassist Pat Badger of “In The Pink”.

After their Thailand gig, Extreme will go to Taiwan on June 17.

Tickets are Bt2,000 and Bt3,000 at Thai Ticket Major. Call (02) 262 3456 or visit http://www.ThaiTicketMajor.com.
