The rating reflects EGAT’s important role as a state-owned enterprise responsible for electricity generation and transmission for Thailand, its dominant position as the country’s largest power generator and its status as the sole owner of power transmission throughout Thailand.

The rating also incorporates EGAT’s strong financial position, and strong support from the government.
