Buriram United are already guaranteed as the 2018 Thai League champions after they beat Police Tero 2-0 at Chang Arena on Saturday to extend their lead over arch-rivals Bangkok United with nine points and with three games to play.
Diogo Luis Santos of Brazil and Korrakot Wiriyaudomsiri scored the two goals for the Thunder Castles who will finish the 2018 season as winners regardless of what happens in their last three games.
With 75 points and better head-to-head record over Bangkok who are at second with 66 points, Buriram will hold the Thai League trophy for a record of sixth time since 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017.
