Thailand oust South Korea in World C’ship

Thailand got off to a great start in the FIVB World Championship after they beat South Korea 3-2 sets in the Pool C first preliminary round in Kobe on Saturday.
The August’s Asian Games silver medallists recovered from sluggish play in the fourth game to win the encounter 18-25 25-22 25-19 13-25 15-11. Pimpichaya Kokram was Thailand’s top scorer by producing 25 points.
Thailand will next play Russia who trounced Trinidad and Tobago 3-0 on Sunday.
