‘US Fed likely to hike rate’

Kasikorn Research Centre on Monday forecast that the US Federal Reserve will increase the policy rate by 0.25 per cent, from 1.50-1.75 per cent to 1.75 and 2 per cent, at the next meeting on June 12-13.
The move is likely to be a response to the strong economic recovery and US inflation nearly reaching its target.
The interest rate rise would stabilise the country’s economic growth, the research said.
