RISE IN BORDER TRADE

Thailand’s border trade amounted to Bt678.62 billion in the first half of this year, up 6.78 per cent from the same period last year, Foreign Trade Department deputy director-general Wanchai Varavithya said yesterday.

  Up to Bt386.55 billion in trade value came from Thai exports to neighbouring  countries, a drop of 0.79 per cent from the same period last year, as Bt293.07 billion Thailand import from border countries or up 18.7 per cent from the same period. Thailand’s border trade surplus B92.47 billion, he said.
