NBTC signs 5G development deal with 5GMF

The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) on October 18 signed a letter of intent with Japan’s Fifth Generation Mobile Communications Promotion Forum (5GMF) to create the framework of collaboration for the development of 5G wireless broadband service in Thailand and Japan.
The letter was signed in Japan by NBTC secretary-general Takorn Tantasith and 5GMF chairman Prof. Emeritus Susumu Yoshida.
The NBTC plans to conduct field trials of the 5G technology in Thailand early next year.
