Aggregate Thai wealth grows 8% in a year: Credit Suisse report

Aggregate global wealth rose by 4.6 per cent from US$14 trillion to $317 trillion (Bt10.4 quadrillion) during the twelve months to mid-2018, outpacing population growth, according to Credit Suisse Research Institute’s “2018 Global Wealth Report”.
Wealth per adult grew by 3.2 per cent, raising global mean wealth to a record-high $63,100 per adult.
In the 12-month period, wealth in Thailand grew strongly at 8.2 per cent to $525 billion, with wealth per adult increasing 7.2 per cent to more than $9,900, the report found.
Since 2000, wealth in Thailand has increased by close to 400 per cent, or 9 per cent per annum, and wealth per adult by around 300 per cent, or 8.2 per cent a year.
