The Thai ace appeared to have a cruise to victory when she was leading 21-9 19-14 before the three-time world champion rallied back to surge ahead at 20-19.

The gutsy Thai dug deep to win the next three points to seal off the victory for her first title in a year.

In mixed doubles final, Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Terattanachai had to settle for second best, losing to world No 3 and top seeded Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino of Japan 21-18 21-18.
