A troop was killed and two rangers were injured in a spade of bomb attacks in the restive southern border province.
Private Sayumphu Kaewkloom, 22, died at scene when his body and head were hit by shrapnel of the bomb made of a gas cylinder, police said.
The blat occurred at 6:50 am when Sayumphu and nine other troops were patrolling the are and were walking through a rubber plantation.
The Pattani attack happened Thursday night, seeing two rangers injured when insurgents detonated a homemade bomb to ambush a patrol unit of rangers in Mueang Pattani district.
Insurgents detonated the bomb when a unit of eight rangers walked past in their patrol routine at 9 pm, police said.
The two injured rangers were identified as Ekkachai Phekhonnu and Khachornsak Ritdam.
They were slightly injured by bomb shrapnel.
Another blast occurred in Narathiwat at 6:50 am when insurgents detonated a homemade bomb to try to ambush a patrol unit of 12 troops.
But no one was injured in the blast that happened on the outbound Phetkasem Road in Luboh Sawor village in Bacho district. The bomb was hidden at a power pole, which was toppled because of the blast.
