KOH TAO DOUBLE MURDERS
THE DEFENCE legal team for the two Myanmar suspects in the Koh Tao murder case has requested approval from Surat Thani’s Samui Provincial Court for a second 30-day extension period of appeal until March 24.
Nakhon Chompoochart, one of the lawyers assigned to work on the Koh Tao murder case by the Lawyers Council of Thailand, yesterday said his team was still gathering evidence that would be used in the appeal, as the reason for seeking the extension.
Meanwhile, the two defendants – Zaw Lin and Win Zaw Tun – who were sentenced to death on December 24 last year for |the killing of David Miller, 24, |and the rape and murder of Hannah Witheridge, 23, on September 15, 2014, remained in detention at the Nakhon Si Thammarat Prison.
