Xeping Chaiyasarn, the promoter of a controversial cosmetic procedure, filed a complaint at the Department of Health Service Support (DHSS) yesterday demanding an investigation against Dr Cholathit Sinratchatanant, president of the Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Thailand, for allegedly letting non-medical practitioners perform cosmetic surgery on patients at his clinic.
Xeping backed her complaint by presenting evidence along with an alleged victim to DHSS chief assistant Dr Pattarapol Jeungsomjate-paisan. Xeping said she will file a complaint with the Medical Council next week to investigate Cholathit’s ethics.
She said this move was to reveal the truth to society and not to get back at Cholathit for declaring that Xeping was not even a doctor and falsely claiming she was his relative.
Pattarapol said Kamol cosmetic hospital, accused of condoning Xeping’s advertisement that could lead consumers into having false expectations, has decided to postpone its response to DHSS’s summonses to hear |charges.
Xeping claimed she wasn’t linked to the hospital or its director, and revealed that the hospital had actually written to her asking her to stop talking about the facility in relation to former singer Surachai Sombatcharoen’s rejuvenating cosmetic surgery.
