One incident, at 12.30am yesterday, saw a group og insurgents open fire at the Tambon Don Sai Administrative Organisation office in Pattani’s Mai Kaen district. A 5-kilogram bomb was also detonated there, resulting in property damage. No injuries were reported.

Later at around 6am, four members of a paramilitary ranger team out were wounded by a roadside bomb in Yarang district. The injured were Master Sergeant 1st Class Thanongsak Sriworamas and ranger volunteers Panakorn Panalad, Teerapan Khongnok and Weerawut Khamlom.

At 10am, a villager was shot and injured by gunman on a motorcycle in Nong Chik district.

In Narathiwat , a roadside time bomb went off at 11.30am in Rusoh district. As the explosion seemed timed to take place during a low-traffic period and didn’t injure anyone, police believed it was planted to create chaos.
