Tourist police have helped a worried Chinese father get in touch with his daughter during her weeks-long holiday in Thailand.
The father called the Tourist Police hotline 1155 to help locate his 26-year-old daughter, Zeng Yongshi, because she had not contacted him for nearly one month and he feared for her safety.
Lt-Colonel Bawornphop Sunthornlekha of the Tourist Police Division yesterday revealed that the investigation showed Zeng entered Thailand on April 11 on a tourist visa and had been staying in the Sukhumvit Soi 71 area.
“We’ve checked on her at her address in Bangkok and found that she is safe and sound. We thus asked to talk to her dad via the phone,” Bawornphop said.
He said the Chinese father was overjoyed to get in touch with his daughter.
Bawornphop said that if anyone needed help from the Thai Tourist Police, they could do so through the hotline round the clock.
