In response, the court called a session for the study of all evidence on July 11. Artur Segarra Princep, 37, is being detained at the Bangkok Remand Prison.

Princep is accused of detaining Spanish businessman David Bernat in his Huai Kwang apartment and forcing the victim to reveal his ATM pin in order for him to steal Bt734,940.

Princep then allegedly forced Bernat to consume four kinds of toxic and illicit drugs resulting in unconsciousness, after which he allegedly suffocated the victim to death with a plastic bag. The perpetrator then dismembered Bernat’s body before disposing the pieces at different spots in the Chao Phraya River to conceal his crime.

When arrested in Cambodia, Princep denied all charges, hence police decided to hand him over to the court for sentencing in line with the crime and to get him to return the stolen money to the victim’s family
