Watcharain Jettanawanich, a provincial lands official, said on Wednesday that the person with the final say on the action was the director-general of the Lands Department.

The firm would have 15 days to appeal the department’s order.

Actor Puri Hiranpruk and his family had asked agencies to probe the firm’s ownership of three plots covering 24 rai (3.84 hectares) over allegations that the firm might have used illegitimate land-rights documents to occupy the plots.

The panel was set up under Article 61 of the Land Code to consider revoking the firm’s title deeds and their meeting to conclude their investigation was held on April 28.

Since the company also asked authorities to probe the 53-rai land ownership of the actor’s family, the committee was also looking into that case, deputy governor Chokdee Amornwat said.
