Motorists will soon be able to buy from technical colleges nationwide innovative devices that detect if a person is trapped in a locked vehicle or if there is a carbon dioxide leak in a vehicle.
He spoke during a workshop in which the knowledge behind Lampang Technical College’s sensor device that detects a person trapped in a lock vehicle and Nakhon Pathom Technical College’s carbon dioxide-leakage detection device was passed onto other technical colleges. The workshop will conclude today.
Atthaporn Paithirakul, Lampang Technical College’s Electronics Department head, said the school’s device scanned a vehicle once it was locked and if it movement were detected the device would emit a siren sound, the vehicle’s lights would flash and a distress text message would be sent to the vehicle’s owner along with the global positioning system data related to the last five cellphone calls the owner received.
Khomsan Moungthip, head of Nakhon Pathom College’s Electrical Power Department, said the carbon dioxide-detection device would activate when a person was trapped in a vehicle or the carbon dioxide level went beyond 1,000 parts per million. It would blare a siren twice before automatically opening the windows, he added.
