Police deputy spokesman Pol Maj-General Songpol Wattanachai yesterday said he wasn’t worried about a Facebook post that the May 1 murder of a disabled man in Bangkok could be within the frame of premeditated murder.
Deputy permanent secretary for Justice Thawatchai Thaikhiew, who posted the claim. Songpol said he also wasn’t worried that the different takes in the prosecution could get out of control. Four of the six accused in the death of the bread-delivery man were sons of police officers.
Songpol said police were doing their best in the case, proceeding according to evidence. He said no more charges had been filed and the case had not been submitted to the prosecutor. He said the prosecutor could check and instruct police to probe the case and add charges later. The victim’s relatives had sought police cooperation to add the premeditated murder charge but police said there was not enough evidence.
