Vorayuth Yoovidhya, grandson of the late Red Bull founder Chaleo Yoovidhya, still hasn’t been charged for the fatal road accident he allegedly caused in 2012. His alleged victim was a non-commissioned police officer.

Sutti Kittisupapornm, chief public prosecutor at the Department of Southern Bangkok Civil Litigation, said this week that public prosecutors were planning to arraign Vorayuth on two charges – reckless driving that caused the death of another person and failing to help the victim.

Vorayuth did not report to the public prosecutors on Wednesday despite a police order.

When asked what the next step would be, Sutti said prosecutors would probably wait another 15 to 20 days for investigators to bring Vorayuth in.

“But if after one month, he still doesn’t show up without presenting a sound reason, we may have to seek an arrest warrant,” Sutti said.

Earlier this year, public outcry over the perceived delay in the case against Vorayuth surfaced because the statute of limitations for a speeding charge against him had expired.
