The photograph showing a school student feeding his brother instant noodles while on a motorcycle during Bangkok rush hour has taken social media by storm. This touching image was captured by The Nation’s photographer Sukol Kerdnaimongkol, who was stuck in traffic himself at the mouth of Sukhumvit Soi 77.
When the image was posted on The Nation’s Facebook page, it was shared 80 times and won more than 200 likes in less than an hour.
Facebooker Joke Jessada voiced sympathy, commenting: “What were the parents thinking about during the morning rush hour? Why do people have to live like this?”
Other Facebook users voiced concerns about safety.
Andrew Tait said “They could at least wear their helmets”, while Anchalee Tienkachart said it was very dangerous and hoped that Bangkok authorities would help solve the traffic problem.
Roger James said “Would be good if they had helmets on like the rider”, while Tim Noppawan blamed the parents for putting their children’s lives at risk.
