In another drug bust in Phichit, a combined security team arrested three men and seized 22,659 pills and 2.23 grams of crystal meth or “ice”.

Kanchanaburi deputy police chief Colonel Jarin Wattanapaisan told the media that following a tip-off Sakkarin, 27, was nabbed on Friday as he drove a pickup truck to allegedly deliver the drugs.

Jarin said the drugs were smuggled from Myanmar via Sangkhla Buri district to a customer in Tha Moung district.

He said police had identified all of Sakkarin’s accomplices and would gather evidence so arrest warrants could be issued against them.

Sakkarin claimed he was asked by a friend to drive the pickup to someone in Tha Moung without knowing the drugs were inside it.
