Authorities seized Bt45 million worth of assets from two drug suspects over the weekend. The assets were two houses, five cars, Bt17 million in cash and gold.
The suspects, identified as Narin Janbamrung and Naris Watchareenan, were arrested at a house in Bang Bua Thong in Nonthaburi on Saturday night.
Narin, Naris and Sam Thong-ngern were implicated by alleged gang members arrested in Bangkok for having 20 tablets of crystal meth in late 2014.
Sam was arrested in March last year.
The Narcotics Control Board and four other agencies found that they operated a syndicate that smuggled meth into Thailand via Mae Sai in Chiang Rai for distribution in the Central, East and Southern regions.
“Authorities have already seized the assets worth more than Bt45 million from this gang. It’s one of the big gangs,” Sirinya Sitdhichai, secretary-general of the NCB, said.
