FORMER model Wiralak “Manao” Sutthiprapa faces four charges including compelling a woman to do something against her will, defamation, insulting another person in her presence or by publication, and causing the other person to be shamed in public.
Acting Huai Kwang superintendent Pol Colonel Nakarin Sukhonthawit said police would notify Wiralak of the four charges and hear her testimony before ordering her to meet police at the Bangkok North Municipal Court tomorrow. Acting Metropolitan Police Area 1 chief Pol Maj-General Sompong Chingduang said police would determine whether Wiralak, 24, should face additional charges for violating the Computer Crime Act.
The former model has claimed she lost the mobile phone on which she shot the video.
Wiralak and lawyer Netinat Yuangsaard from the Social Equality Promotion Foundation met police yesterday at the Huai Kwang Police Station.
“I admit to these charges, which I had committed unintentionally. I never thought this thing would go as far as it did,” Wiralak said.
“I want to apologise to my boyfriend, to his family and to mine as well as to the damaged person and everyone concerned. I tried to make a phone call to the damaged person but she didn’t take my call because she might not be ready to talk.
“I really want to beg her for forgiveness for what I did in anger without careful deliberation. However, I want her to understand that if anyone faces a situation like this, they will not be able to control themselves. I am sorry for making you feel ashamed,” Wiralak said.
She urged society to remember her case as an example and a warned others to think carefully before posting and sharing videos or photos on the Internet.
