The famous actress Araya A Hargate has launched a campaign to dye clothes black for people who are grieving for HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej but cannot afford to buy mourning clothes.
She started the “Dye for Friends” initiative after seeing a social media post that showed an old man checking if he had enough savings to buy a black shirt during the mourning period.
Black clothes have been selling out fast at shops across Thailand ever since. Some sellers are taking advantages of the situation by selling clothes at inflated prices.
“Those who are interested in donating and dying their clothing can come to the Krung Thai Tractor’s office, which is 500 metres from Maleenont tower,” she said.
