A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Singapore Government is deeply saddened to learn of King Bhumibol’s death.
“His Majesty King Bhumibol was an outstanding and deeply revered monarch. Throughout his long reign, he worked tirelessly for the betterment of the Thai people,” the statement said.
“His Majesty King Bhumibol also made great contributions for the enduring friendship between Thailand and Singapore,” it added.
The ministry also said that King Bhumibol’s devotion to the Thais will “long be remembered and respected both in the Kingdom of Thailand and around the world”.
