A recent change in the purchasing procedure requires retail vendors to reserve and buy lottery tickets on two separate days, making the process more tedious compared to the previous practice of reserving and buying tickets on the same day, many vendors said.
At the Khok Matoom Junction branch on Pichai Songkram Road, eight vendors said they had stayed overnight in front of an ATM to buy tickets.
Vendor Ratchanee Srijanto said the new requirement, which has been in effect for the last four lottery sales, had made some vendors fall behind others in purchasing tickets, so she had resorted to camping overnight in front of the machine to increase her chances to buy tickets.
