KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia’s largest automaker expects sales to double with the launch last week of the energy-efficient Bezza sedan.
Perodua is maintaining its sales target of 216,000 units for this year, as it expects to more than double sales to 118,600 units in the second half from the 97,400 units it sold in the first half.
Bookings for the Bezza have already reached 10,115 units, with 500 deliveries made since it was launched last Thursday, Perodua president and CEO Aminah Rashid Salleh said.
“We began mass production of the Bezza in June and have a ready stock of 7,000 units as of July 21,” he said at a briefing on the company’s sales performance for the first half.
The Bezza comes in five variants – 1.0-litre manual transmission and automatic transmission, 1.3-litre “Premium X” manual and automatic transmission, and 1.3-litre “advanced version” automatic transmission.
The car comes in six colours – sugar brown and ocean blue for the 1.3-litre variants, which are new metallic colours for Perodua, and the existing colours of lava red, ebony black, glittering silver and solid ivory white.
