Sretsis launches its long-awaited new collection
ONE OF THAILAND’S favourite fashion brands, Sretsis marks its new collection with an art exhibition that opens tomorrow on the ground floor of high-end mall Central Embassy.
The brand, which was founded and is still led by sisters Klyduean, Pimdao and Matina Sukhahuta and has gained international recognition over its 14 years of business, offers unique designs that combine classic styles and fun stories.
With the autumn-winter 2016 collection, Sretsis has again caught the attention of the fashion industry with outstanding designs that clearly reflect the brand’s characteristics and which include mix-and-match items for men. Dubbed “Tamed Lovers” and on the concept “no power is greater than the power of love”, the new collection is being introduced through a modern art perspective under the title “Portraiture of the Beloved Tamed”.
It demonstrates the different definitions of love – such as that between lovers, the family, mothers and their children, siblings, best friends and even pet owners. The exhibition offers a look not only at the fashions but at the inspiration and behind-the-scenes stories of their design and technical development.
“We wanted to display modern romance with more dimensions than in our previous collections by showing that no power is greater than the power of love. The collection praises the love of such famous couples as Romeo and Juliet and John and Yoko. No one can deny the special powers that brought these couples together,” says creative director Pimdao.
“Apart from lovers, we also redefine contrary elements such as light and dark, fragile and strong, and ancient and modern and show how they can be blended together.
“These ideas inspired our art exhibition. We wanted to display fashion through a new perspective together with a deep interpretation of art that reflects the individuals, love, lifestyle, and modernism. Sretsis aims to represent a modern woman with a modern view of the world but one doesn’t sway with the changing trends,” she adds.
A special surprise at the exhibition, which features photographs both old and new showing the power the love, is the scheduled appearance of 17 celebrity couples. They include actor and socialite Pachara and Pimpisa Chirathiwat, Chermarn “Ploy” Boonyasak and Chavaporn “Ploy” Laohapongchana, Major General Patchara and MR Srikhumrung Yukol Rattakul and actor Jesadapon Pholdee and his wife Sitamon. Photographer Kong Phanthumchinda and Sretsis artist Teerawat Teankaprasit will also be on hand.
Limited items including t-shirts, hats, scarves, and premium bags are available at this event only. Sretsis’s “Tamed Lovers” collection is on sale at all branches in Thailand and Japan as well as at online store Sretsissuper.com.
The exhibition runs through September 21.
