Tourists will be allowed to visit the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and parts of the Grand Palace starting |next Tuesday, PM’s Office Minister Suwaphan Tanyuvardhana said yesterday.
He said tourists would be allowed on sightseeing tours of the temple and certain sections of the Grand Palace from 8am to 4pm with entrance allowed at the Wiset Chaisri Gate as normal.
Mourners who want to pay personal respects to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej will enter the Grand Palace through the Manee Nopparat Gate and leave via the Wiman Thewes and Thewa Bhirom gates.
Those who want to pay respects to the King after 4pm will have to enter the Grand Palace via the Wiset Chaisri Gate, Suwaphan said.
He said traffic police had prepared to cope with the 200 tour buses that are expected to arrive each day carrying tourists to the Grand Palace.
The buses will have to park in front of the Royal Hotel and the old Government Lottery Office.
