A meeting of the country’s cultural world heritage site sub-committee resolved to ask the United Nations agency for inclusion on a tentative list by February 1 next year, as the famous temple was deemed to have outstanding universal value and met three out of the 10 of Unesco’s selection criteria.
The sub-committee asked the Fine Arts Department to gather evidence of the site’s importance.
