Domestic tourists and visitors from neighboring countries brave rain showers to pose with the mermaid statue and enjoy riding horses at the Samila Beach in Songkhla on the New Year’s Eve on Saturday.
However, due to the Meteorological Department’s warnings, heavy downpours, big waves and strong winds will prevail the lower Southern part of Thailand from December 31, 2016 to January 6, 2017. Red flags are seen installed along the beach as warning marks for tourists to prevent them from swimming in the turbulent sea during the mentioned period as it can cause fatal injuries.
