The deputy PM said he could not say exactly when the changes would be done, but it should be within the 30-day timeframe.

Wissanu is a member of the panel set up to revise the draft charter in regard to a chapter about the King.

Revisions to the draft constitution, which was approved by voters in a referendum last August, were recommended by the Office of His Majesty’s Principal Private Secretary. The suggested revisions involve royal prerogatives and related clauses such as the designation of the regent when the King is outside the Kingdom or unable to perform his royal duties.

Wissanu said yesterday that the amendments would not be complete until royal scribes write them on the ancient palm-leaf books and the preamble is amended.
