A 26-year-old Thai woman, who had slipped and fallen into a 20-metre-deep hole on Khao Chang Phuak mountain in Kanchanaburi’s Thong Pha Phum district on Tuesday night, was rescued at 2am yesterday.
Sangkha Buri resident Supattra Polboon was walking on the mountain with five friends when she fell into the hole at 5.30pm Tuesday. She managed to grab bushes as she fell, avoiding serious injury.
Park officials, border patrol police and rescue workers trekked eight kilometres into the woods to rescue her. She was sent to the district hospital before being transferred to Paholpolpayuhasena Hospital.
