Representatives from civil-society sectors will line up this week to speak with the military on reconciliation as parts of the government’s effort to create an “agreement of truth” between all sides.
Conducted in the secretary-general’s office at the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) from Monday, the civil-society hearings follow last week’s talks with various political parties.
NCPO deputy spokesperson Col Sirichan Ngathong said the NCPO would assign its Peace and Order Maintaining Command to continue engaging with various sectors on reconciliation.
Any comments would be considered in drawing up the agreement to be produced by the committee on reconciliation under the government’s super-committee, or Por Yor Por, she said.
