The government-promoted sidewalk and canal market in front of Government House, officially called “Talad Klong Phadung Krungkasem”, showcasing the theme “Triangle of Stability, Prosperity, and Sustainability” for the southern provinces, is now open to the public.
Until April 23, the market will serve as a tourism promotion zone for the far South, organised by the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre (SBPAC) and the five southern border provinces – Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Satun and Songkhla. The market is open from 9am to 7pm, offering local products and cultural charms.
A similar event organised by the SBPAC in March had led to Bt70 million in sales.
Deputy Defence Minister General Udomdech Sitabutr on Friday presided over the new market, which has booths selling various products and also provides health information and free-of-charge flu shots.
