The National Legislative Assembly (NLA) passed in a confidential meeting on Thursday three consecutive readings of an act on the regulation of the royal administration proposed by the Cabinet.
The confidential meeting, which took two hours, was held under Rule 13 of the NLA’s meeting regulation.
The meeting was not broadcast on the Parliament channel, outsiders were not allowed in the chamber, and the act was not available for public perusal.
However, an informed source said the act was part of the recomposition of some royal agencies, including the office of the Privy Council.
According to the source, the Office of His Majesty’s Principal Private Secretary would be grouped with the Bureau of the Royal Household.
His Majesty’s safety provisions supreme unit commander would also include the Royal Thai Aide-De-Camp Department and the Royal Court Security Police.
The recomposition of the agencies was aimed at facilitating better administration, the source said.
Porpnpetch Vichitcholchai, president of the NLA, declined to speak on the matter, saying the meeting was confidential.
