The bomb that hit an army hospital in Bangkok on the third anniversary of the coup on Monday was hidden in a vase in a room named “Wongsuwan” in honour of Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Prawit Wongsuwan.
An initial investigation determined that the explosives were in a green vase that contained artificial flowers.
The vase was placed on a chair inside the Wongsuwan room in Phramongkutklao Hospital, the source said, adding that it was not yet known when the act was committed.
Authorities are checking hospital security camera footage. At least 25 people were injured in the attack, mostly of whom were only slightly hurt.
