The overflowing Yom River has flooded more than 3,000 rai of farmland in the Sam Ngam district of Phichit province.
Locals are now busy moving their belongings to higher ground amid concerns that the floodwaters will rise further. The ground floor of their elevated houses are already under water.
Officials said on Wednesday that they were surveying the damage and would provide compensation to affected people.
