The National Reform Steering Assembly (NRSA) would end its term in July following the promulgation of the new charter in April.
The body was tasked with pursuing the reform plans developed by the now defunct National Reform Council (NRC) and make recommendations to the government for further implementation. It has been working on those plans for more than a year and a half now.
Kamnoon Sidhisamarn, the NRSA spokesperson, said this would be in line with the unveiling of new reform plans under the new National Reform Act, which was passed by the National Legislative Assembly on Thursday. It is required under the new charter as one of the two most critical bills to help shape the country’s long-term goals. The other is the National Strategy bill, which was also passed along with it on Thursday.
Kamnoon said he was not aware of any NRSA members resigning to take up future posts.
