A smartphone healthcare application named “Mor Roo Jak Khun” is being developed to narrow a communication gap between the “Mor Krobkrua” Family Care Team and the public.
Developers say it will also allow faster and more convenient access to information.
Permanent Secretary for Public Health Dr Jessada Chokdamrongsuk spoke about the development of the app – a collaboration between Phitsanulok Public Health Office, Buddhachinaraj Hospital and Naresuan University Faculty of Engineering – after a Tuesday meeting of 400 health officials at Phitsanulok’s Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University.
Once ready, the app would be helpful to the Thai public-health circle in the age of “Thailand 4.0”, he said.
This application will allow people to follow health news, check their own health indices such as body mass index (BMI), blood pressure level, and blood sugar level, and to get advice from the “Mor Krobkrua” Family Care Team around the clock via messaging or Video Call.
In an emergency, people can press a single button to alert the medical emergency hotline 1669, and the application will send the caller’s GPS location and health information to the medical emergency centre.
This will allow patients to access accurate treatment faster and more conveniently. Besides allowing health information to be searched by name or Thai ID card number, the app will also be able to use face ID technology in case the patient is unconscious.
