Prizefighter starts life as police officer

Pol Lance Corporal Wisaksil Wangek – better known as Thai professional boxer and two-time WBC super flyweight champion “Chao Laem Srisaket Sor Rungvisai” – attended a merit-making ceremony on Wednesday to mark National Police Day at Uthumphon Phisai police station in Si SA Ket, where he reported for work on Tuesday.
Wisaksil said he was happy and proud to serve the Thai public and that being a policeman was his dream job.
Later, Wisaksil met Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives’s Uthumphon Phisai branch manager Kornkit Tiyabutra to open a bank account and buy a Bt10-million lottery certificate under the bank’s “Kaset Mangkhang” savings scheme launched on Wednesday, as a wedding gift for his fiancé, Pornpimol Sankaew.
He invited district chief Suriya Butjinda to his wedding on November 11 at Pornpimol’s hometown of Chumphon.
