Fresh from winning her third Indonesian crown on Sunday, Ratchanok extended her match wins to 6-0 in two weeks following a 21-12 21-16 demolition over Indonesian Gregoria Mariska Tunjung in the first round.

Joining Ratchanok in round two is Pornpawee Chochuwong who upset eighth seeded Saina Newal of India 20-22 21-15 21-10.

Thai No 2Nitchaon Jindapol, however, was sent packing by home favourite Goh Jin Wei 21-13 21-12.

In the men’s singles action, all Thais proceeded into the next round. Khosit Phetpradab ousted Lee Dong Keun 21-15 21-13, Sitthikom Thammasin stunned Prannoy H.S. of India 12-21 21-16 21-14 and Suppanyu Avihingsanon downed Lee Zii Jia of Malaysia 21-17 19-21 21-15.
