DISCUSSIONS OVER HEALTH INSURANCE

The Commerce Ministry will discuss with the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) making revisions to health insurance to match with the recent announcement of controls on drug prices and services by the Internal Trade Department of the ministry.
The Internal Trade Department’s director-general, Wichai Phochanakij, yesterday said it was ready to share details about the announcement with 353 private hospitals.
The hospitals will then send reports about their drug and medicine services to the department. This information will then be discussed with OIC to revise health insurance to ensure it is a reasonable price.
