Industry Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit will propose to Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak the establishment of a national electric vehicle policy committee to steer development of the EV segment.
The minister expects the panel to get off the ground in the next three months.
It followed the suggestion of Thailand’s Potential Development Network that the government hasten transition of the Thai auto industry to the EV era.
The network proposed that the government set up an agency to draw up an EV master plan and serve as the centre of coordination.
