Three channels fined for live broadcast of mass-shooting

The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has imposed fines of Bt250,000 on ONE and Bt500,000 on ThairathTV and Amarin-TV each for airing live the mass-shooting in Korat, under the Broadcasting and Television Operations Act 2008, according to commissioner Lt Gen Perapong Manakit.
Live broadcast of such an incident has a harmful effect on the well-being of the general public, which is prohibited under Section 37 of the same act, according to the NBTC.
