A hot day is forecast for the upper country combined with humidity from the South China Sea brought by the southerly winds and the southeasterly winds. Meanwhile, a weak easterly wind prevails across the Gulf, bringing isolated thundershowers to the lower North, the Northeast, the Central, the East and the South.

From March 3-5, a high-pressure system from China will extend to cover upper Thailand bringing hot weather conditions. Thunderstorms, lightning with gusty winds and hails are forecast for the Northeast and the East on March 3-4. The lower North, the Central, the East including Bangkok and its vicinity will be affected on March 4-5. People should keep off unsecured buildings and outdoor installations and farmers have been advised to beware of damage to crops.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:

Northern region: Hot weather during the day with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 17-25 degrees and highs of 34-38 degrees Celsius.

Northeastern region: Hot weather during the day with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the area; temperatures lows of 21-26 degrees and highs of 36-38 degrees Celsius.

Central region: Hot weather during the day with isolated rains; temperature lows of 24-26 degrees, highs of 36-38 degrees Celsius.

Eastern region: Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 25-27 degrees, highs of 34-37 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high.

Southern region (east coast): Partly cloudy with isolated rains; temperature lows of 21-26 degrees, highs of 32-35 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high.

Southern region (west coast): Partly cloudy with isolated rains; temperature lows of 22-25 degrees, highs of 34-36 degrees Celsius; wave a metre high.

Bangkok and surrounding area: Hot weather during the day with isolated rains; temperature lows of 25-26 degrees, highs of 35-37 degrees Celsius.
