Thammasat cutting rent of Rangsit campus canteen operators
The revenue of businesses in the campus area have been affected by Thammasat’s measures, university vice rector for sustainability and administration Prinya Thaewanarumitkul said in his Facebook post on Sunday (March 22).
Thammasat has been teaching students online since March 16, and has closed the campus from March 22 to April 12 in line with the government announcement.
“This has affected those who run their businesses or work in the campus canteen, as well as motorcycle riders and other workers in the university, since no student visits the campus and those living in dormitories have returned to their homes,” the vice rector explained.
The campus will lower 50 per cent of rental fee in March, and over 50 per cent in April, for food stall operators.
The campus will continue to employ housekeepers and security staff, and cut by 50 per cent the fee rider operators pay.
Thammasat is also promoting delivery service for food cooked in the campus canteen. This measure will help both food stall operators and the motorcycle riders.
